How to generate and manage your API Key

The API Key is a unique identifier used to authenticate your integration with the Automa.Net platform. For security reasons, the process of generating and storing it requires special attention. Follow the steps below to set up your access.
Step 1: Navigate to API Settings
To manage your keys, you must be logged in to your account on the Automa.Net portal.
- Click on your profile picture (avatar) or the arrow next to it in the top right corner of the dashboard.
- From the drop-down menu, select the API keys option.
Step 2: Generate the Key
In the API management panel, you can initiate the creation of your credentials.
- Click the blue Generate API Key button.
- A modal window will appear on your screen containing your unique API Key.
Step 3: Copy and Secure (Critical Step)
This is the most important part of the process due to our security protocols.
- Copy the key immediately: Use the "Copy" button or select the text manually.
⚠️ Security Warning
For your protection, the API Key is visible only once. After you close the modal window, you will never be able to preview the same key again. If you lose it before saving, you will have to reset it.
Step 4: What to do if you lose your key?
If your key is lost, compromised, or you forgot to copy it during generation, you can use the Reset function.
- In the API keys section, click the Reset API Key button.
- The system will invalidate your previous key and generate a new one.
- Important: After resetting, you must copy the new key and update it in all applications and integrations where the previous key was used. The old key will stop working immediately.
